Thoughtful, sentimental gifts are the best gifts.
Buuut, finding the perfect one can be challenging.
Especially for dads.
As daughters, we want something that says, “Thanks for noticing when we have a hard day.” Or, “I love when you text me randomly to see how I’m doing.” And most importantly, we want a gift that says, “I’ll always love you.”
You can’t get them just any gift. It has to be special.
This is why we need to find gifts our dads will adore, appreciate, and actually use—whether it’s for Father’s Day, Christmas, birthdays, or just because.
Alright daughters, let’s dive into these Father’s Day gift ideas for the special dad in your life!

1. For the Dad Who Writes: Dad, I Want to Hear Your Story
If your dad is a writer or likes to journal, this gift is pretty unique. Sure, we may think we’ve heard our dad’s story many times. But guaranteed, when he starts writing, he’ll share something new and create a timeless keepsake you both can treasure for years to come.
2. For the Dad Who Takes Notes: Rocketbook
My dad walks around with a notepad wherever he goes. If he ever lost that notebook, he’d lose all his sketches, notes, and lists. Rocketbook prevents that from happening. It’s an eco-friendly, reusable notebook that allows you to send your notes to many cloud services.
3. For the Dad Who Grills: Grill Spice Gift Set
While this may be obvious, it’s a classic Father’s Day gift—especially with summer right around the corner. If your dad is constantly cooking over the barbecue, an array of spices and seasonings, while traditional, makes for a practical gift.
4. For the Dad Who Likes a Little Bling: Keepsake Keychain
If you want dad to have a constant reminder of your love for him, this is it. Stuck to his keychain (which travels everywhere with him, no doubt) he’ll see a message of how much you care every day—multiple times a day, in fact! If you’re looking for a sentimental father-daughter gift idea, this is it.
5. For the Dad Who’s a Grandpa: How to Babysit a Grandpa
One of my favorite father-daughter gifts (especially if you’ve recently had a baby) is a children’s book your dad can read to your baby (or kids). Our personal favorite is How to Babysit a Grandpa. This is the gift that keeps on giving because your kids and your dad can read it over and over again.
6. For the Dad with Too Much Tech: 3-in-1 Stand Holder
Does your dad have a wad of cords and electronics piled up on his nightstand or end table? He needs your help organizing that mess. This 3-in-1 stand keeps his necessities in order with the cords tucked away and out of sight. You’re welcome, Dad.
7. For the Dad Who Jams: Portable Bluetooth Speaker
If dad enjoys his tunes, get him something he can blast as loud as he wants and dance like nobody’s watching. A portable bluetooth speaker allows him to listen at home, while tailgating or camping. Want to personalize this father-daughter gift? Load some father-daughter songs onto your phone and play them on the speaker when you give it to him.
8. For the Dad Who Tinkers: Cordless Drill
If dad already has a drill, and he loves to build and tinker, get him another tool he needs or wants to try. And if you’ve recently asked dad to help you out around your house, a power tool like a drill is a great thank you gift for helping you out.
9. For the Dad Who Takes Pictures: Digital Photo Frame
If your dad is anything like mine, and takes A TON of photos, even if you’re sticking your tongue out or making a boring face, you’ll want to find a way to help him enjoy those memories easily. A digital photo frame is a fantastic way to highlight all the fun times you have together.
10. For the Dad Who Reads: Kindle Paperwhite
If dad loves to read and you can’t settle on one book for him, check out the Kindle. He can upload books from the library or books he purchases on Amazon and store it all in one place. You’re clearing shelves off for him and at a little over 7 ounces (about half the weight of a paperback book) you’re making it easier to carry his favorite book around.
BONUS: Father-Daughter Gift Ideas that are FREE
Honestly, my favorite gifts for dad are free. If you’re having trouble coming up with some for your dad, these gift ideas won’t cost you anything but your time, love, and creativity:
- Make a handwritten (or hand-drawn) card
- Join Dad for happy hour at his house
- Help out on his favorite project
- Let him teach you something
- Write him a poem
- Sing him a song
- Dance together
- Bake him dessert
- Cook him dinner
- Take a hike together
What’s the best gift a daughter can give her father?
Honestly? I know I said the same thing for Mother’s Day, but I can’t deny it. The best gift you can give is your presence.
Before you’re with your dad on Father’s Day (or any holiday), try to let the stresses and worries of your to-do list melt away. Prior to entering the gathering (or making the phone call), take a few deep breaths. Appreciate that you’re able to be with (or talk to) your dad on this special day. Not every daughter gets that.
On Father’s Day, celebrate dad by being present and in the moment with him.
The pandemic has been challenging for all of us and prevented us from seeing our loved ones. This Father’s Day, rejoice in whatever time you have together.
Which gift did you like best? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll add it to the list! 👇👇👇
